Abstract Submission

The purpose of this website is to facilitate the submission of abstracts for the Texas Chapter of The Wildlife Society annual meeting.

About the Annual Meeting

The Texas Chapter of The Wildlife Society holds its annual meeting each year around the second or third week of February. The location changes annually so that members in all regions of the state have a chance to attend. The meeting begins after lunch on a Thursday with the Business Meeting that is open to all members. After this, the student chapters conduct the Quiz Bowl. Thursday evening the President's Reception has food and drinks for all. Friday morning we start off with the Plenary Session of invited speakers, and then have the Cottam Award Contest presentations, before breaking for lunch. Friday afternoon and Saturday morning we have concurrent sessions of presented papers. The Awards Ceremony is Friday evening. The meeting ends Saturday at noon.

A typical meeting will have about 600 attendees, 15-20 exhibitors, 100 presentations spread over more than 15 sessions, and nearly 100 posters. A silent auction and raffle is conducted on Friday to raise money for the chapter. A variety of training workshops are held prior to the meeting. There is always a Student Mixer Thursday evening and Student Breakfast Friday morning where students may meet and network with professionals.
